Our Commitment to Accessibility

At Youth Futures, we believe that every young person deserves equal access to the support, information, and opportunities they need to build a better future – no matter their abilities or the technology they use. We’re committed to building an inclusive, accessible website that works for all people, including those living with disability.

Supporting an Accessible Online Experience

We’ve designed our website with accessibility in mind. This includes keyboard-friendly navigation for users who don’t use a mouse, text alternatives (alt text) for all meaningful images, and clear heading structures to help screen readers move through content with ease. We also maintain strong colour contrast to support users with low vision, resizable text via browser or device settings, and mobile-friendly design that works across all screen sizes. Our site uses ARIA roles and labels to support screen readers and other assistive technologies.

The Standards We Work Toward

We work toward meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as outlined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines help ensure our content is accessible to people with a range of vision, hearing, cognitive, and mobility needs.

Always Improving

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time fix. As our website grows and evolves, we’ll continue reviewing and improving our practices to make sure the experience works well for everyone who visits.
