Volunteer

Discover how you can volunteer with Youth Futures and make a real difference in the lives of young people across WA. From events to corporate volunteering and student placements, there are meaningful ways to get involved.

Every meaningful change starts with people who care.

We’re incredibly grateful for our community of volunteers, people like you who give their time, skills, and passion to support young people facing real challenges across WA.

A note about direct volunteering

We want to be upfront with you from the start. Direct volunteering opportunities with young people are quite limited. Many of the young people we support have experienced significant trauma and vulnerability, and maintaining their privacy, wellbeing, and trust is foundational to everything we do. Our careful approach to who has direct contact with them means these spots are rare, but there are plenty of other meaningful ways to contribute.

How you can make an impact

Event volunteering — The Big Yellow Pipeline Challenge

One of the most exciting ways to volunteer with Youth Futures is through the Big Yellow Pipeline Challenge, an epic five day charity bike ride from Kalgoorlie to the Perth Hills raising vital funds for young people experiencing homelessness across WA. A community of generous volunteers powers the event, supporting riders and making the whole experience possible. Whether you can commit to all five days or just one, your involvement makes a real difference. There are both five day and single day volunteering opportunities available.

Corporate volunteering

Looking for a team building experience that actually means something? Corporate volunteering is a powerful way to rally your workplace around a cause that matters. We have a limited number of opportunities for corporate groups each year, creating real impact while building genuine connection within your team. Get in touch to find out what might work for your organisation.

Student placements

If you’re studying at TAFE or university in a related field, we accept students on practicum placements each year. Placements are best arranged through your educational institution’s placement coordinator. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.

More opportunities coming soon

We’re actively working to expand our volunteering program and create more ways for our community to get involved. Check back soon or subscribe to our updates to be the first to know when new opportunities become available.

What we ask of our volunteers

Because we take the wellbeing of the young people we support so seriously, all volunteers are required to provide a current National Police Check and a Working With Children Check before commencing any volunteer role.
