Resilient, Confident, and Supported Students

At Youth Futures, we know that helping young people reach their potential is about more than academic achievement. When students’ mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and social wellbeing are supported, they thrive — and so do their families and the staff who care for them.

“We’re creating a purposeful framework so every young person, staff member, and family has the right support at the right time,” says Kristy, Head of Student Wellbeing.

Focusing on Outcomes: Confidence, Resilience, and Growth

Our programs are designed to give young people practical tools to build resilience and confidence. This includes:

  • Social-emotional learning initiatives
  • Protective behaviours education
  • Tailored youth mental health support through trauma-informed practice and access to in-house psychologists

By combining these approaches, we’re helping students navigate challenges, feel empowered, and step into brighter futures.

Partnerships that Strengthen Support

We work alongside trusted organisations such as Headspace, Sexual Health Quarters, and Thriving in Motion, providing safe and reliable pathways for additional mental health support. These collaborations ensure young people always have someone to turn to, both inside and outside of school.

Supporting Staff and Building a Positive Culture

Staff wellbeing is essential for student success.

“When staff feel supported, young people benefit,” Kristy explains.

Through reflective practice, peer support, and professional learning on topics such as vicarious trauma, we’re creating a nurturing and resilient school culture where staff feel valued and equipped to support students effectively.

Engaging Families for Long-Term Impact

Families are at the heart of building brighter futures. In 2026, parent and caregiver workshops will focus on:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Digital wellbeing
  • Strengthening connections between home and school

By empowering families with tools and knowledge, we create consistency in care — helping young people feel supported both at school and at home.

A Vision for the Future

For Kristy, the mission is clear:

“It’s about putting strong foundations in place so young people, their families, and our staff can all thrive — not just reacting when challenges arise.”

By prioritising youth wellbeing, staff care, and family engagement, Youth Futures is helping young people develop the skills, confidence, and resilience to embrace healthier, brighter futures.
