FutureReady

FutureReady builds real skills, real qualifications, and real pathways into work or further study.

Ready for what comes next?

FutureReady is a free program for Year 11 and 12 students that bridges the gap between school and the real world. Launching in 2026 across all Youth Futures campuses, it combines hands-on industry training with the support you already get through your Certificate of General Education — so you finish school not just with a qualification, but with the practical skills and confidence employers are actually looking for.

What FutureReady includes

FutureReady is built around real skills for the real world.

Every training opportunity has been chosen because it opens doors — giving students credentials that employers in WA’s growing service and construction industries are actively looking for.

The program runs alongside your Certificate of General Education, so you’re building a portfolio of practical skills at the same time as completing your studies.

  • Work readiness

The practical foundations every employer looks for: financial literacy, workplace health and safety, and how to succeed in a professional environment.
  • Practical skills & qualifications

Nationally recognised courses with real-world value — White Card, First Aid, RSA, driving lessons, and retail and hospitality skill sets.
  • TAFE & vocational pathways

TAFE visits, trade taster days, and career expos — building real connections and helping students plan confidently for what comes next.
  • Transition & independence planning

A personalised Individual Transition Plan built with your youth worker and teacher, reviewed regularly as your goals evolve.

  • FutureReady is for Year 11 and 12 Youth Futures students who are ready to start building real skills alongside their studies. The program is free and available to all students across our campuses.

  • FutureReady is delivered from our Bayswater and Mirrabooka sites — and open to all Youth Futures students, whether you’re based at Midland, Clarkson, Joondalup, or beyond.

  • FutureReady is a stepping stone, not a destination. You’ll leave with qualifications, practical experience, and a clear plan — whether that means starting a job, an apprenticeship, enrolling in TAFE, or continuing your education. Our team stays alongside you through every transition, connecting you to the right opportunities when the time is right.

  • Getting into FutureReady starts with a conversation. If you’re already connected to Youth Futures, speak to your youth worker or teacher about whether FutureReady is the right next step for you. If you’re new to Youth Futures, get in touch with our team and we’ll talk you through the process

  • Nothing. FutureReady is completely free for all eligible Year 11 and 12 students. Every course, qualification, and training opportunity in the program is provided at no cost — so the only thing you need to bring is yourself.
