We’re thrilled to share the news of a powerful new chapter in our work with young people: the opening of Djinda — our brand-new, 6-bed short-term accommodation service for young people aged 15 to 19.
Thanks to the support of the WA State Government, Djinda (meaning star in Noongar language) will soon be a safe, welcoming place where young people can find not just shelter, but the respect, care, and consistent support they deserve. With 24-hour staffing, case management, and life skills programs, Djinda offers the stability that helps young people begin to heal, grow, and reclaim their sense of possibility.
But Djinda is just the beginning. Alongside it, we’re also opening nine transitional units in Brentwood —both are spaces where young people can take their next steps toward independence. This has been made possible through the generosity of Lotterywest and our incredible community of donors and supporters. You are helping us build more than buildings — you're helping us create futures.
At the heart of these new services is a deep belief: that homelessness doesn’t define a young person’s future. It’s one chapter, not the whole story. What matters most is what comes next — and with your support, we’re walking alongside young people as they find their footing, rebuild trust, and imagine what’s possible.
Djinda and Brentwood reflect everything we stand for: care that is trauma-informed, grounded in dignity, and shaped by the voices and experiences of young people themselves.
Thank you for walking this path with us — your belief in what young people can become is the light that guides it all.
"You’ve been there for me when I needed it most, and it’s made such a difference. I feel happier, safer, and I’m not constantly worrying about my kids. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you’ve done for me and my family." Emily and her children live safely at Nest.
